About Us

Otesha is a school based out of Mysore and Nature Classrooms is a programme that brings nature learning to everyday education.

About the Programme

The summer school programme is designed as a joyful, experiential introduction to the natural world. Through exploration, play, movement, and creative expression, children will spend their mornings discovering the many wonders of nature around them.

Break Up of the Costs

The course fee covers the costs for:

  • Designing the programme
  • Nature educators
  • Materials
  • Meals (a snack and a beverage each day)

Each week will focus on simple and relatable themes from nature that children can easily observe and explore in their immediate surroundings. The themes include:

  • Flowers
  • Leaves
  • Seeds
  • Insects
  • Birds
  • Animals
  • Colors – Textures – Patterns

Children will explore these themes through a variety of hands-on activities such as:

  • Creating birds using natural materials
  • Observing nooks and corners in and around the school to discover life around
  • Making seed crowns
  • Creating clay models inspired by nature
  • Nature movements and role-play activities
  • Leaf and bark stencils and insect-inspired art
  • Using magnifying hand lenses to discover insects through a game of bingo
  • Flower pressing and botanical art
  • Nature handprints
  • Making colours using natural materials

Through these experiences, children will slow down, look closely, and nurture a sense of wonder, curiosity and connection with the living world around them.
